Baby sleep and settling support in the Illawarra

When nights are long and nothing seems to settle your baby, it helps to have someone in your corner. I'm Brita, a registered nurse with neonatal intensive care experience, offering gentle, responsive sleep and settling support in your home from Otford to Shell Cove.

Common reasons families get in touch

  • Frequent night waking
  • Short daytime naps
  • Babies who only sleep on you
  • Unsettled evenings
  • Reading tired and hunger cues
  • Building a flexible day rhythm
  • Safe sleep set-up questions
  • Settling after NICU or special care
  • Sleep with twins or multiples
  • Sleep changes while travelling

A gentle, responsive approach

There's no cry-it-out and no rigid schedule. We look at your baby's cues, feeding, environment and your family's needs, then find settling strategies that feel right for you.

Comfort is connection. Responding to your baby is never a bad habit.

What happens in a visit

An initial 90-minute home visit lets me see your baby's sleep space and routine first-hand. We talk through a typical day and night and put together a practical, realistic plan.

Follow-ups (45 minutes, at home or by telehealth) help you adjust as your baby grows. Sleep advice follows current Australian safe sleeping guidelines.

Support for the whole family

Tired parents matter too. Partners and support people are welcome at visits, and if you're feeling low or anxious, I can point you towards services such as PANDA, Gidget Foundation and your GP.
